Hi,
I have read the man page for pfPipeVideoChannel and I am a bit confused about
the relationship between the setStress method and the setStressFilter method in
DVR_AUTO mode. I have modified the perfly code to experiment with various
settings, but I am still confused! Here are my problems...

The man page gives the algorithm used by setStressFilter to compute stress.
However, the given algorithm only ever sets the stress to 1.0. What is the
definition of "stress"; how is it computed in DVR_AUTO mode and how is this
related to the final DVR scale factor?
The man page says that setStressFilter "sets the parameters for computing
stress, when not explicitly set for the current frame by
pfPipeVideoChannel::setStress". Does this mean that you don't use
setStressFilter when you are using setStress? How does a call to setStress
interact with the Stress Filter settings and how does it affect the final DVR
   scale factor?
The man page also implies that stress is only computed when stressScale is
non-zero. However, AUTO DVR still seems to function when stressScale=0. What
   does the stressScale do?

In the long run, I am looking for a method whereby I can use the DVR_AUTO mode,
but with ability to override the scale factor when necessary to produce a
periodic blurring effect in order to simulate windscreen wiper operation. Maybe
I should be using the MANUAL mode?

Thanks in advance,
Ian Hawkes
