Basically I have a set of Performer routines that query the geometry of the
database (Height of Terrain, Line of Sight, etc.). There is no visual
provided - I'm just using Performer for the scene graph traversal
capabilities.
Right now I have two separate applications running on the same machine.
Each one links in the Performer routines and therefor each app loads a copy
of the database. The good part is that each app can query as much as it
likes without slowing down the other app. Its also much easier not dealing
with locks and queues and such. The bad part is that it takes twice the
memory to load in and store the database.
Is there a better approach to what I'm trying here? How is everyone else
providing LOS/HOT data to the rest of system?
Open for suggestions,
Erik
