Hi, sorry for the late reply, just got back from New Orleans. I woulda
been back earlier, but United Airlines had other plans as to how / when I
should return.

Anyway, the "font issue" is an Xserver problem. It is fixed in
XFree86-4.0.1. There is also a work-around available if you are using an
SGI system.

You should be able to resize the window when you invoke perfly with the -W
option. I know at least: fvwm, fvwm2, WindoMaker, Enlightenment, KDE,
mwm, twm, all work fine for me. You may want to try a different window
manager.
