vega with performer

Dear Sir:

In Performer's programmer guide, there is a example called text.c which
deals with using GL text in performer programme, I now want to write some
texts and HUD in a Vega application, I learn from the vega developer's guide
that vega application can call Performer API directly, how can I do this?
Would you please to give me some sample codes?
