LOD fade transitioning

I am having problems getting LOD fading to work on an O2. I call pfChanLODAttr to set the global fade transition distance,
but an immediate pfGetChanLODAttr indicates that the Attr is still set to zero. I get the same results whether calling at APP
time or in a Draw call back.

Any help appreciated.
