XWarpPointer could be used to reposition the mouse if
you detect that it has moved out of where you want it
to be.
XGrabPointer grabs all mouse input until you release
it, even if the cursor moves outside the owning window.
If you really want to get down 'n dirty with no X
processing at all, plug a standard PC mouse into one
of the serial ports and read the input directly.
