Try software rendering in Mesa to see if either bug persists.

You should check the geostate information and the attribute information
to try and characterize the difference between the flight loader created
scene graphs. Try using pfPrint for this.

Can you replicate this in an OpenGL sample without Performer? That way
you might be able to isolate the problem to the graphics driver(s) and
perhaps file a bug with the relevant project.
