Something in your setup must be screwed up. I'm running a Diamond Viper V220
Ultra, 32mb TNT2 Ultra card on a dual 500MHz (Celeron) box using XFree86 4.0
and the NVidia drivers. Using Performer Town I get a solid 20-30Hz framerate
with texture on. Most of the time it's 30Hz, but I've never had it drop
below 20Hz. Try the latest drivers and I think you'll be pleasantly
surprised.
