what image format are currently supported by pfLoadTexFile?

I try to read some images with
/usr/share/Performer/pguide/libpf/C++/texture but it couldn't be loaded
I suspect that this is not a Performers problem but I'm not sure

some examples:
./texture pic64x64.rgb
PF Warning(2): Using gettimeofday() clock
PF Warning: MUSTRUN of stage 1 on CPU 5791 not
available in Linux.
PF Warning/Usage: No hardware support for VSYNC, frame sync
may vary.Assuming 60Hz.
iopen: bad magic in image file 8103b70

./texture pic128x128.rgb
PF Warning(2): Using gettimeofday() clock
PF Warning: MUSTRUN of stage 1 on CPU 5794 not
available in Linux.
PF Warning/Usage: No hardware support for VSYNC, frame sync
may vary.Assuming 60Hz.

 ./texture pic64x64.gif
PF Warning(2): Using gettimeofday() clock
PF Warning: MUSTRUN of stage 1 on CPU 5795 not
available in Linux.

./texture pic128x128.gif

 the same with jpeg etc
if I use Performer/data/iris.rgb it sucesfully load but if I convert it
to another format I've got the same problem
i've tried to convert them using convert, gimp, display
also tried to convert from any format to rgb and read this rgb

./texture iris.rgba
PF Warning(2): Using gettimeofday() clock
PF Warning: MUSTRUN of stage 1 on CPU 5804 not
available in Linux.
PF Warning/Usage: No hardware support for VSYNC, frame sync
