Maya offers many export options including obj,dxf,rib, etc... Go to the
Window->General Editors->Plug-in Manager menu and add these to your list
of loaded plug-ins so that they appear in your File->Export All menu.

I took a quick stab at some alternatives and it seems as though both obj
produces decent results (though I've not checked to see how well they do
with textures...) One other alternative (if you have the software
handy...) is to use Cosmo Worlds on windows to save your VRML model as an
Inventor V2.1 ascii file and then load it in Performer.
