IRIS Performer 2.3.1 for Linux now available

Performers,

We're very pleased to announce that IRIS Performer 2.3.1 for Linux is
now available. Please see our web site for all the details and downloads:

As before, the web download is free with a SurfZone membership (also free).

Many enhancements and updates have been made since the 2.3 release.
Performance, stability, robustness, and interactivity are all
improved. Some specific enhancements include:

  - Support for SGI 230, SGI 330, and SGI 550 workstations.
  - Support for XFree86 4.0.
  - Enhanced detection of OpenGL features and driver capabilities.
  - Performance enhancements for SGI workstations.
  - A new 'flight stick' motion model for perfly.
  - Enabling of Anti-aliased lines & points on hardware that supports it.
  - Enabling of video-retrace synchronization on hardware that supports it.

Please note that the dependencies have changed once again. In
particular, OpenGL is now available from many sources and we've
worked to make this release compatible with any implementation
conforming with the OpenGL ABI for Linux. See our FAQ for all the

IRIS Performer 2.3.1 for Linux is fully API-compatible with existing
IRIS Performer applications and is a full distribution, including the
core run-time libraries and file loaders, development header files,
sample source code, and manual pages.

have, and we have found in our testing some of the problems you may
