Shibo,
The problem is more complicated than Robert indicated if you want the models
to
run in real time. See Angus Dorbie's comments on some of the issues with
Sedris databases. You can expect these and many more in the conversion of
the
database, especially in the handling of layers.
You can contact Terrex at www.terrex.com <http://www.terrex.com> who have a
product called DART for taking databases
in flight format and making them more efficient for use in performer or on
PCs. This
works well for terrain databases, but you will have to optimize the 3D
models of planes
by hand. There are some special features in the software to help convert CAE
formatted
OpenFlight databases. The conversion from the CAE .bin format to OpenFlight
is available
from CAE Electronics.

Subject: Re: CAE BIN Loader
Shibo,
I worked at CAE for many years. CAE's binary (.bin) format is proprietary.
It cannot be loaded into performer as is. I don't know what you're doing
with a CAE .bin file or how you got a hold of it, but you need to contact
the people at CAE and ask them to translate the .bin file into a .flt file
before viewing it inside performer.

Hello,All,
I have got several terrain and plane modules from one CAE Flight
Simulator,the file extension is .bin.
But I found that it can not be loaded by Performer2.2 on SGI
Onyx2(IRIX6.5.6).
Please confirm how to make a modification on this loader, and let it load CAE
bin file modules.
Best Regards
Fu Shibo
