Acusoft in Orlando have been working for STRICOM with help from SGI and
can generate a pfb file from SEDRIS format. This is not as
straightforward as it might at first seem. The SEDRIS format only lets
you access the data via a documented format. That data might be very
difficult to use even once you get it because of the original intent at
the time of it's creation. For example the CCTT databases, Primary1 &
Primary2 are not ready for rendering on a zbuffered architecture and
infact look like they are not ready for rendering on anything without
considerable preprocessing. This includes the cut & fill of roads,
tunnels, treeblocks and the insertion of basis sets. Perhaps you would
call this database compilation in another context. It also seems to me
like you'd have to adjust your SEDRIS conversion strategy depending on
the data source because even if you can read the above databases you
might encounter additional difficulties from another source. For most
stuff I expect the conversion process is simpler and may not require the
same degree of processing because of the nature of the source data.

Cheers,Angus.
