Dear Ion,

I found some parts of the 3ds file format on a Deutch site,
it has nothing to do with a normal file specification but I was
able to load something out of this.

p.s.: When I look for a file specification I use the keywords
"WORD" "DWORD" "BYTE"
an I always get something.
Please telle me on jansim++at++videotron.ca if you can find a better
specification of the .3ds file format
