This was developed by Colin Middleton and Greg Massie in SGI Professional
Services UK. Disk space requirement over the actual Millenium was ~55Gbytes,
a duplicate copy on each Ciprico 7000 series fibre channel disk array with
288 gigabytes capacity per unit. Each array was connected to a separate
Onyx2 IR2 with 4 CPUs, the second machine being used as a backup should
things go pear-shaped, (but of course they didn't!). This disk space does
include the cloud clipmap data, (only a total of 26Gbytes were shown at the
ITEC demo). The textures came from satellite data supplied by ARC Sciences
Simulation.
