Yep, any deskside Origin system will need a full chassis upgrade because
the cage with graphics for a deskside is a different unit, my comments
refer only to rack based systems.
In this case the 2200 mentioned was for an unrelated project, it is
mentioned as a data point because of the video product it was configured
with. It was not the system being upgraded which was described in the
email as a 'large Origin system'.
Turns out this was an old email which got retransmitted. There seems to
be a plan for an upgrade which has evolved since the email was initially
sent.
