I am trying to debug some C++ code using the WorkShop debugger. I am using
Irix 6.5.6, performer 2.2.7.
I have problems with memory allocation, from a shared arena. Unfortunately,
despite linking my code with the Debug DSOs, the Stack Trace in the
debugger still finds that the versions of amalloc/lmalloc it is using are
'stripped'. I ahve not worked out a way to avoid this; can anyone help ?
Perhaps the debugger will not give me much information anyway. Would I be
better off using other tools, e.g. 'amallinfo' to tell me more about what
is going on in the shared arena, and memory in general ? General observations
on the use of debuggers on performer apps would also be welcome.
regards,
Colin
