Gary,

I don't think that the Vsync plug is going to make it for you. In factI
don't know wat it does there altogether (unlike the vsync on the good old
Onyx1/IR).
What you need as you genlock signal is the vsync signal from one of the
channels on pipe 0, or an external signal from an video sync generator, used
in the broadcast industry.
In addition, I haven't been able to sync on the 1280x1024 signal. What works
for me is an NTSC or PAL signal, acheived via the 640x486_30i.vfo or
768x576_25i.vfo formats, respectively. To do so, you can define a channel
with the right format on pipe 0, and use it's output as the sync signal.
