I wonder if anyone else may have had the same problem that I am having
configuring my RedHat 6.1 linux workstation. I want to use the hardware
acceleration on a Diamond Monster Voodoo2 board. I have followed all of the
prescribed steps listed at SGI's web site to load the driver and, in fact
the testGlide2 and testGlide3 programs which come with the downloads work
fine. The problem comes when I try to run perfly. The mongoose
installation faq mentions:
Below are some common pitfalls involved with installing
drivers for hardware
acceleration:
Check your symbolic links. Typically, the hardware
driver is installed as
/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1. Make sure your
/usr/lib/libGL.so or
/usr/lib/libGL.so.3 points to the hardware driver.
I have installed the Voodoo2 drivers a couple of times and the installation
has never placed libGL.so.* in any directory on my hard drive.
By the way, Performer 2.3 works using the Mesa driver.
Any help from people who got their Voodoo2 board to work with Mongoose would
be deeply appreciated.
