Hi Mike,
I don't have any info on updates. You may not need to wait though....
The function that gets a pointer to the arena returns NULL.
pfMalloc & friends will allocate memory off the heap when
given a NULL pointer to the arena. Since you're already limited
to running in a single process, this will work. (In my case I just
conditionalized a check to make sure that the arena wasn't NULL.)
If you need to communicate to another program using shared memory,
you might think about mmap-ing a file. (Note that since Linux mmap-ed
regions don't autogrow, you'll have to size the file before you mmap it.)

Subject: Shared Memory
Hi there!
I was just wondering if any updates have occurred with the shared arena
functionality under linux. Unfortunately I just discovered that it is
not supported, which makes my project a little more difficult.
any info would be appreciated
Thanks in Advance
Mike
