Most of those types Linux questions will probably be welcome here,
support on OpenGL is a fairly generic issue, but there is a line to be
drawn and I wouldn't want to see lot's of discussion about A vs B vs C
graphics product here, I can put you in touch with someone in sales if
you really want to have that discussion. Remember this started out as a
very specific objection, you are broadening it to more general support
issues but the extrapolation doesn't entirely work, OpenGL to some
extent abstracts those issues for us.
Unanswered issues will be card specific, gazing into my crystal ball,
probably video and integration related and perhaps driver and exotic
feature related. You aren't going to get the kind of support you are
used to on those issues even from many OEM's. I expect SGI will offer
appropriate support for it's products and do what we can at the OpenGL
level for others probably with a demand driven grey border on the
features & configuration front.
Cheers,Angus.

-- For Performer+OpenGL tutorials http://www.dorbie.com/ My comment on the abuse of Jon Johanson's rights; After giving up raiding their neighboring countries the Norse men have taken to raiding 15 year old kids in their bedrooms. Very sad.
