pipe crash using IRIX 6.5.6 with Performer 2.2.6

He there,
 I just upgraded from 6.5.1 to 6.5.6 and upgraded
performer libs to 2.2.6 on a dual pipe Onyx, IR, 8 cpu.

Every now and then my app wont initialize the second pipe properly.
A simple test:
this works (i get the gui):
        setenv DISPLAY :0.0
        perfly -M 0 (forcing perfly for a single pipe)
this doesn't (doesn't go past performer intro screen on pipe 0, nada on pipe
1)
        setenv DISPLAY :0.1
        perfly -M 0
this doenst either
        setenv DISPLAY :0.0
        perfly -M 1 ( multipipe option)

Anybody ran into this problem? Any patches needed for 6.5.6 /2.2.6 ?
Any help appreciated.

btw, rebooting the system will make problems go away, but it reappears
non-deterministically...
