mongoose on GeForce 256: any success stories?

Howdy Folks,

   I'm currently using a Diamond Viper V770 video card with
opengl acceleration setup using instructions from SGI. I have
the chance to try out a GeForce 256 card. A quick search of
the archive shows only a question about the GeForce 256.
Has anyone gotten it to run? How well does it work? What
steps did you have to go through to get it there?
