RE: pbuffers on Octanes

I'm guessing it fails with some kind of GL error/warning saying that it
can't make the context or something. On Impact/Octane I think you need to do
some config to be able to use pbuffers, see the relnotes for gl_dev, there's
a section covering this.
Once that is set up then you might also need to put some logic in you
fbconfig code to make sure it uses a minimal fbconfig.

Scant detail I know, if you're stuck then you should be able to separate out
a few 10's of lines of code that configs the pbuffer and gives the symptoms
you describe, if you post that then we can give more advice.
