My group is working on an project involving rendering a complex 3D scene
behind some HUD type flight symbology. We are planning to do this on 2 high
performance PCs (Dual 550 PIII and a top of the line AGP graphics card).
From our research in scene graph renderer's for the PC we have come up with
two viable options. VisKit on NT and Performer on Linux.

My question is what differences as far as performance am I going to see
between using the two APIs and operating systems.

Also I have been reading several emails from people having trouble getting
Linux, Performer, and PC graphics cards to work. How difficult is it to get
a high end Linux/Performer box working?

Thanks a bunch.
