I don't think Volumizer is the answer for what you want, if I understand your request correctly. However, I have had some experience with Volumizer and Performer, so I'll try to answer these questions. By real-time, I'll assume you are looking for high frame rate. There is a new class for Performer, pfVolume, and a Performer Loader for .tif files (assuming they are 3D images. This class improves performance somewhat in that it polygonizes in the APP, and renders in DRAW. This class and loader are available with the latest release of Volumizer 1.2 (downloadable from sgi.com). However, the real bottleneck in Volumizer is fill rate. Your performance will therefore be highly dependent on the size of your texture. Most users of Volume Rendering are tickled pink with interactive update rates of 15 Hz and such, but 60 hz for usable volumes is usually a challenge. > * Can we reach the same effect by using 3D Textures ? > * Can anyone recomiend me a technic a part of mesh to render high > accuracy dynamic terrain ? > > Can anyone offer any suggestions? For flowing water, I've seen a combination of dynamic mesh and moving texture coordinates. > [ Attachment (text/x-vcard): "husein.vcf" 279 bytes > Character set: us-ascii > Tarjeta de husein > Encoded with "quoted-printable" ] >-- End of excerpt from husein
