Given your requirements I'd heartily recommend making your way to New
York City for the LinuxWorld expo next week and/or keeping an eye out
for news from the show. You probably saw the earlier mention of the
collaboration among SGI, NVIDIA, and VA to develop hardware-accelerated
OpenGL for Linux desktop systems:
http://www.sgi.com/newsroom/press_releases/2000/january/opengl.html
"The first public demonstration of the collaborative effort will be
shown during LinuxWorld, February 2-4, 2000, in New York City."
This is the long-awaited moment and will make what's currently
available in the Linux/PC marketplace a moot discussion -- so
stay tuned. :-)
