Openflight files, created with Creator/ Multigen Products
there should be sample .flt files ( http::/www.multigen.com)
Openflight is by far the biggest medium used for Models
on Performer. although the modeller current only has a
NT and Irix flavours.
As to articulation, you need to readup on Performer node
types such pfDCS, etc ... Reading the Programmers guide
and looking at the examples will help.
As to inventor I think that is still not available on
Linux
