This sort of error typically occurs when calling a rendering routine
from somewhere other than the DRAW process, or conversely, when
setting a scene graph attribute or mode from somewhere other than the
APP or DBASE processes. The other possibility is that the
pfLightModel object isn't being allocated from the Shared Arena or
the allocation failed.

Where are you making the call, and how is the pfLightModel object
being allocated?
