The attached patch catches a couple of recent changes which are important.
Please consider this patch as *the* candidate for inclusion of prism54 onto
2.4.
Jeff may take a look at it but all this has already been revised a lot
so I wouldn't expect much more revising going on except for two new
patches pending to sync our trees.

This patch has exactly what we had + two pending patches Margit just
sent in. Can you give the green light for Marcelo to include this on
2.4?
