hi
is there any implementation of a nat module in
Linux for translation of an ipv6 address to ipv4 address? (rfc 2766) this is
said to be particularly useful when there is a network of ipv6 only hosts that
want to communicate with an ipv4 host (to access a website for example). from
the rfc i could only get that there has to be a nat box between this ipv6 only
network and the ipv4 internet. this nat box/router (presumably a dual stack m/c)
will then replace the source address (ipv6 address) of every outbound connection
with the lone public ipv4 address it possesses using nat/napt.
At present, can a router that is both on an
ipv6 & ipv4 network forward a packet from the ipv6 network to the
ipv4 network using such translation?
