Closing, because bug didn't really bug me anymore. 

I think it's possible, that the TV is still corrupting disks, but I haven't
heard from the owner and I would have no further input to provide to help with
the issue.

I don't know if a current kernel would still hang up the `mount` command.

Modus operandi is to connect the hard disk to a LiveCD I made, which
automatically does the shell commands, I manually perform to recover the disk.
