reading mmapped I/O registers

Hello,

I'm debugging Xorg's driver for the AND Geode GX/LX.  The
driver mmap()s /dev/mem to access the graphics processor
registers.

But from kdb I can't dump this memory range neither
through the process virtual address nor using the
physical address.

Any idea why?
