New x86_64 patch for 2.6.11 kernel

I was able to merge Jim's code, and rebuild and
test on the athlon64 system I have here (only machine
I have right now). I made a clean rev of the changes
and sent it to Keith, it should appear on the sgi
site shortly.

There should be newer patches forthcoming shortly.
