kdb architecture whitepaper

Hello,

I'm currently working on my diploma thesis about implementation of a
debugging tool, and I intend to include a chapter comparing different
debugger techniques.

Now, my question is whether there is any whitepaper or speech slides
describing the general kdb architecture and how it works, somehow giving
the "big picture".

Any links or other pointers would be great.
