KDB (1.8) on 2.4.7-9: blinking leds and no screen!

Hi.

  I apoligize if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find
an answer anywhere.

We have installed kdb here to debug our product, but sometimes
we suddenly get a blank screen on console and the CAPS LOCK
and SCROLL LOCK leds are blinking.

We can't seem to figure out what does this indicate, and if indeed the
kernel panicked, whether it is possible to see what happened...

We are using RedHat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.7-9 with kdb version 1.8.
