- display_endian is enum bfd_endian which is defined in /usr/include/bfd.h. You need a recent version of binutils to compile with kdb, I run with binutils-2.9.5.0.22-6.

- I just got into playing with XFS. I have the same 'lockup' at IDE init time. The -test5 (?) based RPM works fine, a clean -test11 boots, but the -test11xfs freezes solid. My system is an old ASUS P2B

- The APIC initialization code in standard 2.4.0-test11 kernels had some problems and would hang machines during device probe. The bug was fixed in 2.4.0-test12-pre6. I updated XFS-test11 to kdb v1.7 e
