- It looks like an old config.sub. What is its timestamp (3rd line of the script) ? If it's more than 6-10 month old, try to get new versions of config.sub and config.guess (from the automake project).

- You're right Martin... SLES 9.1 come with automake 1.8.3, and it seems that this is the source of my problems, but SuSE don't provide an update for automake, so i will use the workaround of Jan-Frode
