Hi, I've been doing some SPEC SFS97 (http://www.spec.org/osg/sfs97r1/) testing for my company. SFS is a benchmark for evaluating NFS performance, measuring both throughput (NFS ops/sec), and latency

I also see similar things as well. On the system most everything is fine except for indoe_cache and xfs_inode. They are orders of magnitude larger. I *am* using logbufs=8, I assume that's part of it,

Well, the xfs inode cache is pretty much controlled via the inode cache, which is only shrunk if you get into the cache pruning code if you run short of memory. I can easily prune out my inode cache

To date I don't, but my only other system, not XFS is not the same configuration either. As a matter of fact, I've only got 1 system like the one which is shown here. Of note though, *my* stats are v

Reiserfs behaves a bit differently. After running the same test: inode_cache 1190503 1883987 512 269141 269141 1 : 124 62 The inode_cache uses around 1GB of memory. This is a bit more than XFS, which
