Hmmm. My guess would be that the Mylex uses 8k hardware sectors internally and does read/modify/write on those. Whether the 64K is stripe width or stripe unit, I don't know. The real answer is the s

Ok, I had some time over the weekend to put some spare disks in the machine and see what the effect of different mkfs options would be with bonnie. This is all on a 700MHz Athlon, 512Mb RAM, a Mylex
