- Well, whats happened here is XFS is allocating memory from a context where it cannot fail, and retries the allocation a number of times (6 IIRC, with delays in-between each) and after freeing up ever

- We have 3 xfs filesystem on this machine. There are millions of files on those filesystems. And, we have more then 150 NFS clients accessing those filesystems . Most of the memory used for caching.

- Thats the right file, but look at DEF_PRIORITY not MAX_SHAKE. I think you'll be better off tweaking those VM sysctls though, or trying a more recent kernel. cheers. -- Nathan
