can count all the data blocks used by files, and then subtract that from the total blocks used in df output. Not a pleasant prospect. You can look at the frag and freesp commands in xfs_db,

XFS prints lots of info via it's "cmn_err()" function, and the strings passed to it never have newlines. It translates these to printk's but that translation was missing the added newline in some cas
