This looks a lot like a dup of http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10421
which is fixed upstream in 2.6.26... pls try a newer kernel & close if it fixes
it ok?

(although I didn't think the above bug manifested itself on 2.6.23 the symptoms
& backtrace look pretty well identical)
