Dave may have better ideas, but I'd be interested in something like
this in xfs_dilocate just before the xfs_stack_trace() and EINVAL return:

xfs_fs_cmn_err(CE_ALERT, mp, "inode number 0x%llx\n", ino);

to see what actual inode number we got, just to see if it offers any clues.
