xfs_freeze is not necessary on recent kernels; lvm now hooks into the kernel to
automatically accomplish the same thing automatically.  So if you manually
freeze, lvm will try to re-freeze, and you'll hang up.  If this isn't in the
faq/docs by now, it should be... if you manually unfreeze, lvm will proceed and
you'll get your snapshot.

xfs_freeze man page might be good place to put this info! :)
