If so the attr2 corruptions might be giving xfs_repair fits.
Since sometime the corruptions shows up as really really big block numbers
in the btree fields due to it reading stale data so it is getting interpreted
wrong.

That might be causing parts of xfs_repair to go off and allocate large chuncks 
or memory when it doesn't need to.
