Given that I have no problems formatting a filesystem w/ext2 or ext3 I'm
inclined to believe it *is* and XFS-specific problem, albeit probably isolated
to the ppc64 platform.  Give me a bit and I'll re-enable 64K pages and do a
backtrace w/gdb and post the results here.
