I'm having same problem. To repeat it I can just do "mount -o remount,ro /mnt".
This problem prevents me to do clean boot. It hangs when rc-scripts are
unmounting local filesystems (root filesystem I assume). Problem does not occur
when using Debian's stock kernel. xfs_check does not report any error.

- Debian Sarge AMD64
- Tyan 2882 Dual Opteron
- 8 x Maxtor Maxline 300GB
- Linux xap 2.6.17-rc1-03 #3 SMP Wed Apr 12 13:50:04 EEST 2006 x86_64 GNU/Linux
