It looks like the filesystem is not in bad shape;
ideally make sure it's been cleanly unmounted, then
point a recent xfs_repair at it.  Running that
under an old kernel should not be a problem.

It's not clear why the umount hung, but there's probably
no way to debug that problem right now.
