I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this with Axel's kernel(s). I
ran into it after compiling his 2.4.20-24_30 src.rpm for use with RH7.1.
After installing the kernel, I rebooted, and got messages that my /var and
/home partitions couldn't be mounted, noting wrong fs type, bad
superblock, etc. I could not even issue a simple "mount /home"...got the
same error. I could, however, "mount -t xfs /dev/hda3 /home".
I finagled for a bit last night, including adding a couple of mount
statements to /etc/rc.sysinit, just so that I could mount at boot time.
This morning, I monkeyed around a bit more, and removed the "usrquota"
from the options I had set in my fstab file. Now, the filesystems mount
just fine.
While I'm not at any risk of running out of disk space in either
filesystem, from users or otherwise, I would still prefer to be able to
set and enforce quotas on this system.
So, does anyone have any ideas on what might be going on and/or how to fix
it?
